TIME

Time ticks away

We only grow older

Watching the sun

sitting alone now

Dream big or large

Nothin to lose now

Fallin apart

Feelin the sorrow

Figure it out

Maybe we won’t stop

Dream it out loud

just let the ball drop

Stop let it go

Maybe we can’t stop

Dream it out loud

Just let the ball drop

Time ticks away

Are we movin faster

Watchin the sun

Only with you now

Dream wide and far

No one to stop ya

Picking it up

Embracing the value

Figure it out

Maybe we won’t stop

Dream it out loud

just let the ball drop

Stop let it go

Maybe we can’t stop

Dream it out loud

Just let the ball drop

The Anticipator, The Thinker

Time ticks away and we only get older when we wait. The beats of this song have some of my favorite loops. The vibe of this song is a little electronic and has some lofi beats that create both a mellow and chill tempo. You can hear the song start out with a melody that repeats throughout the song representing time always moving in the background.

In my mind, I sometimes need time to pass by quickly when things get tough, but in reality reading that quote made me start adapting the mindset that time is always going to be passing by. We can either watch it tick or move forward with time even when painful. I think in these uncertain moments, we realize the things we took for granted and maybe the things we wish we would have done earlier. Time is always moving even during times of crisis. No matter the circumstances, how will we move with it?

This song was the fastest I wrote and mixed. It was during one of the #socialdistancing days. Best time to “create“ art is often when we are alone. .The lyrics are pretty simple. It represents how as time ticks away, we sometimes wait and think about whether or not to go ahead and chase our dreams.

On a broader note, sometimes for our biggest dreams we are mostly afraid of dropping the ball; We try to figure out every single aspect and we haven’t even started yet. Who here hasn’t gone all in for something because it will probably “not work out anyways”? Instead you search spend time searching for other options or just wait until the situation becomes “perfect”. Fear of failure. It’s okay to make mistakes, it’s okay to sit alone for a bit, and later share your ideas with someone else. Dream it out loud. If it’s always on your mind maybe there is no stopping you. Time is ticking away. The only thing holding you back sometimes is yourself

I’ve fallen suspect to this many times. Sometimes doing things way too quickly and accidentally forcing it or other times putting things off until it’s “perfect”. I wish I could go back and change the ways my actions were perceived and get another chance. But what you do now is what you have control of. Just let go of your fears and act on it. A mantra that is easy to say and difficult to live. You may fail but at least you tried and didn’t let time get the best of you.

Healing is not dependent on the passing of time, but on the manner of repentance.” I remember reading this for the first time during honestly a very rough time in the beginning of what has come to be the most baffling 2020. As soon as the year started, everything good and bad was going on at the exact same time, but I was also about to make some of the biggest decisions of my life so couldn’t take a break yet. It was like the point of a massive roller coaster where I knew I was getting nauseous, but my only choice was to continue riding.

I’m a chaser. A lot have told me to stop chasing and wait for opportunities to come to you. That would make me sad... being told to stop running and just sit still or even worse give up or be misunderstood. Truthfully, I understand that perspective because I often make silly mistakes with this chasing mindset but deep down my true emotions make me run faster & lead me to new things even if I don’t quite know how to handle it yet. That big project you want to do, that job you want to get, the blog you want to start, the business you want to build, the person you want to tell that you love, the trip you want to take with family or someone you care about...

Now I’m not saying this is about making impulsive decisions. Sometimes you do have to learn patience and wait and take a broader perspective of your own situations. There is much to accomplish even at home when we can’t all gather in huge places now. Moments like these make us realize we are all imperfect humans.
